Three licensed technicians staff the radiology department, with services available 24/7. Our images are produced digitally, and read by Campus Imaging through Saint Catherine’s Hospital in Garden City. We provide essential radiologic procedures including:
- Computed Tomography (CT)
- Diagnostic X-ray
- Mobile ultrasound echocardiogram and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) available weekly
- Bone Density tests available monthly
Diagnostic testing is provided by a nuclear medicine technician. Tests offered include:
- Cardiac Stress Tests
- Bone Scans
- Thyroid Scans
- Gall Bladder testing
Our program combines education with exercise to help you recover from cardiac surgery or a heart attack. It also reduces your risk of suffering a cardiac event, or developing heart disease. A multi-disciplinary approach involving your doctor, cardiologist, registered nurses and the services of a respiratory therapist, physical therapist and a dietician are implemented to maximize your heart health.
Acute Care / Swing Bed
This unit includes 15 acute beds, and 10 swing beds. Each bed is in a private room with isolation for infectious diseases. Visiting hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Our emergency services are available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day with physician coverage available at all times. Cardiac emergencies, trauma, and non-emergency cases are treated promptly and professionally.
Inpatient and outpatient testing is performed in our laboratory 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Our full service lab offers a blood bank and microbiology services.
Durable Medical Equipment
Stevens County Home Oxygen and Equipment supplies oxygen and equipment to allow optimal functioning for all activities in the home and social environments. Assistive devices such as walkers, canes, shower chairs and equipment for home modifications are available. Hospital uniforms, scrubs and accessories are also available in our shop located just south of the hospital.
Respiratory Therapy services are offered to inpatients, outpatients, clinic and emergency room patients with a doctor’s order. Three respiratory therapists offer services on an on-call basis 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our physical therapist and physical therapy assistant provide assessment, rehabilitation and strengthening activities as part of a physical therapy program ordered by a physician.
The physical therapy department will soon be housed in the former Pioneer Manor building. There are plans to include occupational and speech therapy services within this expanded facility in the future.
Surgical and endoscopic procedures are provided for inpatients and outpatients. The surgery department includes one surgery room, one procedure room, a recovery room and a central sterile supply room.
PharmacyThe Stevens County Retail Pharmacy is located at 1042 S. Jackson. There are 2 Registered Pharmacists, 1 Nationally Certified Pharmacy Tech and 3 Registered Pharmacy Techs. Most major insurance plans are accepted, including Medicare/Medicaid, Express Script, ADV/Coventry, Humana and many more. Other services include:
- In-town delivery at no charge
- Your prescription can be mailed to you upon request
- Saturday hours from 9:00-noon, Monday-Friday hours are from 9:00-5:30
The pharmacy participates in the 340B Drug Program through the U.S. Government. This program resulted from the enactment of the Veterans Health Care Act of 1992, allowing these benefits:
- Limits the cost of drugs to federal purchasers such as our hospital
- Provides medications to the uninsured and under-insured
- Allows patients to have prescriptions filled at our in-house pharmacy
- Transactions are quick and seamless for both the patient and the pharmacy
- Our hospital is eligible because of our Critical Access Hospital designation
- Provides increased revenue opportunities for our hospital
Stevens County Hospital is dedicated to providing the highest standard of health care. Certain diagnoses require the interventions of specialists, and our clinic provides consultation with specialists through the Stevens County Medical Clinic. This outpatient specialty clinic enlists the expertise of visiting specialists in the following areas:
- Ear, Nose and Throat
Appointments for the visiting specialists are scheduled through the Specialty Clinic Coordinator by calling (620) 544-8339. Depending upon patient need and the specialty requirements, visits are also scheduled directly with the visiting specialist’s office.
Dietary / Cafeteria
A registered dietician is available for inpatient and outpatient nutritional consultation and counseling. The cafeteria provides home-cooked meals for inpatients, staff and visitors. The cafeteria hours are 6 a.m to 6 p.m.
